ROBERT THOMPSON

Robert’s childhood and adolescent years were filled with every sport available to him. However, the one sport that stole his heart was football/soccer. As a teen he cultivated his love for football any time he could, until one day he suffered a major injury during a game. With his hip broken, going through surgery and having to walk with crutches for months, Robert’s football goals were put on hold. Once his hip recovered, the doctor advised him to start exercising in the gym to build back up his strength before returning to play football. This was his first introduction to the gym and while he did experience a few changes in his body, that was not his focus.

After going overseas to attend university and having his weight and health fluctuate constantly, Robert started taking weightlifting seriously in 2015. He transformed his body naturally in his early 20’s after investing the time to learn about health and fitness. Robert did not have specific plans to compete in bodybuilding, but he was approached with the opportunity to compete in an international show to represent his country in 2018. Robert knew nothing about competing but he took the challenge head on to force himself out of his comfort zone and learn something new. With just 9 short weeks to prepare, Robert won the title of 2018 Drug Free Athlete Coalition (“DFAC”) World Finals Men’s Heavyweight Bodybuilding Champion and placed 3rd in the Men’s Overall title.

This win ignited a passion in Robert that he had never experienced before. This also started a movement in his small island to help bodybuilding gain more popularity. DFAC Caribbean hosted the first Muscle Mayhem show in Grand Cayman in 2019, where Robert won the Overall Men’s Bodybuilding title. He also returned to the World Finals in 2019 to defend his title. Robert walked away as the 2019 DFAC World Finals Men’s Heavyweight Bodybuilding Champion and, his most exciting accomplishment yet – the 2019 DFAC Overall Men’s title which earned him his Pro Card. Robert’s quick rise to a professional bodybuilder led him to start his own business as he wants everyone to feel the fervor he felt through bodybuilding, weightlifting and exercise.
